Hogwarts Castle Pop up by WillziakDS Hogwarts Castle Pop up by WillziakDS
This is the first pop up I have made in almost three years and my first submission in two. So..... Hope to keep up the new prolific streak!

A Harry Potter themed pop up as a Christmas gift for a good friend.

I really hope she likes it!

Hahaha, thanks Boots. Been so incredibly long since I did one of these.  This was for a friend. A very big Harry Potter fan that she is.  And by the way, there are actually 7 distinct pieces, amounting to 4 separate layers. 2 big long ones at the front of either side, and four smaller ones layered behind.  That is one aspect that the pictures do not do justice.  As for the colour palate, you make a fair point, I would probably preferred to do a more vibrant and organic looking thing, but I was trying to get a more black and white pencil drawing kind of look to it.  Sort of to make it look old. Im really happy with it considering its been over 3 years since I made one.  Im gonna keep making them now.  I have more time on my hands.

You certainly have not lost your touch, as it is very atmospheric. Not sure about the colour tone though... it is very bleak. I have always associated Hogwarts a lot more with sandy greens, though that is probably due to the influence of the films above all else as I never read beyond the first book.

How many tiers are within this? the photo makes it a little difficult to see. I can make out a definite two, but some clever shading on the wall attached to the arched doorway(far left) seems to suggest another behind the bridge. Regardless, very nice work indeed.
